Hiking and Trekking Poles

If you haven’t used hiking or trekking poles before, do yourself a favor and give them a try.

Most of us have used a single staff to assist us at one time or another when we have gotten tired on the trails. These smaller pairs are similar to their ski cousins. They are usually made of metal, are telescoping and come with wrist straps. They can be adjusted to meet any hikers needs.

Benefits

They help to increase one’s balance, and ease the strain on your muscles and joints, too. This can be very noticeable on those longer journeys or when you’re carrying a heavy backpack. Your lower back, leg muscles and joints will appreciate the help that your arms can give them when using these sticks.

When not being used, they can be shortened and stored away in your backpack.

As mentioned, if you haven’t experienced the benefits for yourself, you owe it to yourself to try them out. You’re body will thank you for it.

Happy trails.
